That's absolutely not necessary for this kind of software and it's either just bad coding or super-dodgy. For example an incoming connection allowing to bypass your firewall. FontBase also installs a ton of junk protocols and files on the Mac. For beginners and pros there are better alternatives out there. The software is not intuitive to the point of being unpractical. Obviously they are reading their messages - why would they choose not to answer my simple request and send me the promised login credentials after purchase? - From product to customer service: nothing is great about FontBase. So they saw all my e-mails! So: I get a quick refund, I get a quick response to this review. Using FontBase since some years now an im still happy. Also good support and better than Suitcase in my eyes. And lo and behold, within less than 24 hours I get a refund - the refund confirmation comes in form of an answer showing all my messages to them, in which I ask them for the credentials. But when they chose not to answer my queries at all and I realised that the product wasn't good anyway, I asked for a refund.

In the meantime I had figured out that I could reset the account password as they had apparently used my purchase e-mail to create the account. I then e-mailed them two more times over the course of a week. As it was a Friday I figured maybe an answer would come on Monday. After a few hours I e-mailed them on the same day asking for my credentials.

If you are a professional designer, RightFont 5 is one of the best font managers for macOS. RightFont 5 the Professional Font Manager for Mac. It’s surely the best free font manager for Mac. Since it's new on the block, I would be concerned about its lack of long-term experience in the field. It offers an intuitive interface and an amazing set of features, including Google Fonts support. FontBase came up, but I haven't tried it, mostly because I read it was having issues with M1 Monterey (but then, they all were in some way).
No credentials came, I obviously checked spam, etc. Because of that, only recently have I been looking at new alternatives. When I purchased the software, the information was that credentials for account login would be sent immediately after purchase. The features inside FontBase have been designed in such a way to help designers pick the right font for the right time. It’s built primarily for designers, but everyone would love this basic tool. Update: It is funny to me that FontBase reacted to this review within less than 24 hours. FontBase Mac Font Manager for Designers FontBase is one of the completely free font managers for Mac.
